Since the formation of Mustang Communications, we have endeavoured to meet our customers requests for non-standard products, however obscure. We have drawn on our in-house facilities for metalworks, PCB creation, artworks and screen printing, and even transformer winding. Frequently, a full design excercise has been initiated, and just occasionally these unusual products have been elevated for inclusion in our published price list. However, all the design data, PCB layouts, metalworks designs, artworks and CAD drawings have been archived, and as a result, we are able to draw on a wealth of accrued data from literally thousands of projects.

As an example of just one product which now features in the price list, take the ALD.3 ...Originally a special, but now a standardised boxed product, held in stock, in quantity for immediate despatch

ALD.3 Audio Level Detector. This is a small robust unit which will sit across an audio line at any level between microphone and 100V. The input is fully floating. Upon appearance of a signal, the circuitry will operate a pair of isolated contacts. Application - can be used in a multi-occupancy shopping mall or aboard a cruise ship, to enable a central PA/VA evacuate system to take absolute priority over each shops' own music system to disconnect/mute it, without the need for in-depth electronic interconnection; - or can be used to provide simple priority access contacts when expanding a remote industrial PA system without the need to upgrade cabling. One customer used it to detect breakages in a glass bottle production line.
